Biceps (Elbow Flexors) Massage and Mobilization

Here’s a soft tissue mobilization or massage technique for the elbow flexors, including the biceps. This technique can help with cases where pain is present on the front of the elbow or shoulder.

When pain is present along the anterior arm and related to the elbow flexor muscles or their tendons, massage of the area can be helpful in some cases.

Typically, I will perform 10-15 slow passes through the area while checking with the client regarding their response to the treatment.

It’s important to remember that pain in this region can be come from the cervical (neck) nerve roots, a bicep tendon or labral tear, thoracic outlet syndrome and even be referred from the heart. So, if you are receiving this type of treatment and not getting better, it’s important to rule out these other conditions.
